UniCredit Bank accepts and disburses cash in rubles and foreign exchange. Banknotes may be made available to the client in packaging bearing the seal of Goznak, the Bank of Russia or UniCredit Bank offers banks participation in a sponsorship program for the issue and servicing of VISA International payment cards. The UniCredit Bank’s sponsorship program enables participating banks to minimize the costs incurred in issuing and servicing cards, while retaining all the benefits of a VISA International member-bank.
UniCredit Bank has been a member of VISA International with full rights since 1994, and has met all the requirements of this payment system. The Bank’s staff has considerable experience in providing services for payment cards. The Bank has its own processing center certified by VISA International, and this allows different arrangements to be made with sponsored banks, according to the requirements and technical facilities of the latter.
As part of the sponsorship program, a sponsored bank:
- becomes an associate member of VISA International
- designs its own payment cards independently
- determines the conditions of issue and servicing for cards, and the costs for clients
- fixes card credit limits
In its capacity as the sponsoring bank, UniCredit Bank:
- acts as guarantor of the sponsored bank to VISA International
- ensures payment card issue and servicing
- authorizes transactions
- makes settlements with VISA International for operations with cards issued by the sponsored bank
- connects ATMs (cashpoints) and POS-terminals for the sponsored bank
- provides advisory and methodological support in organizing the card business
The services are provided upon entering into the appropriate contracts with UniCredit Bank and upon the opening of a credit line for the sponsored bank.
