UniCredit Foundation: Across 15 European countries, 449 social engagement projects have been financed with donations of around €2.5 million

More than 11,000 donations have been offered by UniCredit staff, each matched by UniCredit Foundation.

UniCredit Foundation has presented the results of the 14th annual Gift Matching Program, an initiative which sees UniCredit staff from 15 European countries, including Russia, making donations to support the work of projects set up by non-profit organisations. UniCredit Foundation itself contributes to the project by matching the amount raised – not only does this reward the hard work and solidarity of the staff, but it also doubles the positive impact of these social projects.

In 2016, over 11,000 donations were logged, bringing the total amount raised to around €2.5 million, to be used to benefit 449 projects. UniCredit Foundation and the Group's employees have supported in excess of 5000 projects since 2003 – with a staggering €45 million donated in total.

Maurizio Carrara, Chairman of UniCredit Foundation comments on the results achieved in 2016: “The UniCredit staff continue to demonstrate their commitment and their spirit of solidarity. By supporting the work of non-profit organisations across the globe, they are contributing to a society which is alive, productive and, perhaps most importantly, united. For this reason, for 14 years, we have been supporting worthwhile organisations which, first and foremost, demonstrate their belief in such a society, working to achieve results that are important for everybody”.
